Who is playing “Monday Night Football” tonight? Time, TV Channel, NFL Week 16 Game Schedule

0

The divisional clash streak will end on “Monday Night Football” in week 16. Instead, viewers will be treated to an interconference clash that could prove to be an intriguing game.

The Dolphins roam New Orleans to face the Saints in the penultimate regular season episode of “MNF”. While both teams have had their fair share of struggles this year, they are at the heart of the AFC and NFC playoff races and have some very strong defenses.

The Saints beat the Buccaneers last week without coach Sean Payton as Dennis Allen did a good job for him. Still, getting Payton back will be a boost for the Saints and set up a big coaching battle between him and Brian Flores in this contest.

These two teams are built in the same way in defense, but they are polar opposites in attack. The Saints have a solid offensive line and lack weapons to catch passes, so they want to run the ball. The Dolphins have a below par offensive line, but have plenty of good pass catchers and a top-five pick for quarterback. They will want to throw, more often than not. It will be interesting to see which defense can take control of this game as a result.

Who is playing “Monday Night Football” tonight?

  • Match: Dolphins to Saints
  • Site: Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans, La.

The Saints (7-7) host the Dolphins (7-7) on “Monday Night Football” in Week 16. This .500 team game won’t necessarily serve as a playoff game in either of the games. playoff races, but it will have a major impact on the AFC and NFC Wild Card races.

The Dolphins started the season 1-7 before going six straight wins and returning to the playoff conversation. Brian Flores’ defense has been exceptional during this streak, allowing just 13.2 points per game while the offense has been solid.

Tua Tagovailoa has played the last five games (four starts) and threw seven touchdowns and just three interceptions during that span. He continues to help the Dolphins win games – he’s 11-7 in his starting career – and builds a relationship with Jaylen Waddle and DeVante Parker. Meanwhile, the Dolphins’ committee return plan is working well, so this well-rounded squad could pose a threat to the Saints.

New Orleans come off one of the NFL’s biggest surprise wins this season in their 9-0 win over the Bucs in Week 15. They shut out Tom Brady for the first time since 2006, when their defense was playing an elite game, as they sometimes have this season.

The Saints offense is a bit of a work in progress, as Taysom Hill starts off and has struggled with precision this season. They’ll likely rely on their defense to beat the Dolphins, but if their two best offensive tackles come back, maybe Hill, Alvin Kamara and the Saints’ running game can get a little better off than against the Buccaneers last week.
