US Senator John Thune is currently seeking college students to do spring internships in his Washington, DC office, as well as his offices in Aberdeen, Rapid City and Sioux Falls.
Interns from Thune State Offices will participate in voter service and state outreach activities, while interns from the Washington, DC office will have the opportunity to witness the legislative process and witness the votes. and Senate hearings. Internships in the state and in Washington, DC, will allow students to work closely with constituents, hone their research and writing skills, and gain a host of valuable office skills.
“Selected interns will receive first-hand insight into the legislative process and daily life in a congressional office,” Thune said. “In Washington, interns will have the opportunity to attend Senate votes and hearings and participate in other activities unique to Capitol Hill. Students interested in an internship in Sioux Falls, Aberdeen or Rapid City will find an equally rewarding experience assisting staff with important requests for voter service and state outreach activities, which are essential to my work for the people of South Dakota. I encourage all students who are interested in these opportunities to apply today.
Thune is the Republican Senate Whip, number two in the Senate leadership; and is a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation; the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry; and the Senate Finance Committee.
