The government prepares to live with the camps and intensifies the internship with the hard Kirchnerisme

After a week of chaos for the I camped on Avenida 9 de Juliothe left-wing piquetero organizations they finally cleared the area without receiving a response from the government. Now, the scenario promises not only new chapters of the conflict, but also adventures a stressful year while the Casa Rosada does not yield on its position and refuses to multiply the social plans.

“With the street closed, no”was the Department of Social Development’s response to the thousands of activists from 30 organizations (among which Polo Obrero, Barrios de Pie-Libres del Sur and the MST-Teresa Vive) who occupied the most important avenue of the city of Buenos Aires for 48 hours, demanding more plans and food aid.

However, the camp showed the official internal from a new angle, taking into account the differences on the methods of resolving the conflict. The appearance of Juan Grabois to show solidarity with the demonstrators was a surprise for the government. The social leader, whose three deputies did not accompany the agreement with the IMFmarched last week with Maximo Kirchner and La Campora Remembrance Day.

Meanwhile, social organizations that respond to Piquetero Unity Front -camp organizer- and have turned downtown Buenos Aires into an impassable place, they announce that the measure of force will be repeated in 15 days.

The demonstration had aftershocks in Cordoba, Santa Fe and Mendoza -among other provinces- and camping as a method of protest seems here to stay. Simultaneously, in La Matanza, neighbors cut the autopsy Richcheri calling for a blackout, while social organizations blocked the center of the City of Neuquen to demand the creation of jobs and the provision of dining halls and picnic areas.

Everything happens while the management of Alberto Fernandez cannot contain the inflation and, in particular, the increase Food priceswhich mainly affects the most vulnerable sectors.

The government does not give in and is preparing for more camps: “We must learn to live with the claim”

An important person in charge of the Casa Rosada made a reading of the conflict in dialogue with NT. “It’s a legitimate problem, complex, but used by the left to accumulate in its logic that the worse everything is, the better,” he stressed.

“We have to learn to live with the claim. There will be all kinds, because we are in a very complex situation, especially if inflation does not come down”, he admitted. And he added: “It will be to negotiate, to listen, to agree, to negotiate, to collect. We have to take this situation without falling into the temptation to repress”.

In this sense, he insisted: “We cannot do it, even if the situation is violent or they try to jump the fence of the ministry. How did (Fernando) De la Rúa end? There have been deaths in social protests in other governments. We can’t do that.

From the government, they remain firm: they insist that “The way to lift people out of poverty is not with plans” and that the official strategy is to generate real job.

“We have to move to the productive stage. Once you’ve opened the door, you can’t close it again: millions of new plans that don’t resolve. Now is the time to close the door and the bank and the whore”the official consulted by NT. In the executive, they emphasize the need to move forward with “a productive monotax that includes the workers of the popular economy”, which has not yet been discussed in Congress, and non-bank credits for the sector.

Hard Kirchnerism sends signals and official intern adds new chapters

In reference to presence of Grabois, an official close to Alberto Fernández specifies: “The interpretations can be diverse. Maybe that he tried to look good with Cristina, that he wanted to mark the court, or that he went too far. Juan still feels the injustice. He felt he had to leave. It’s a fact. Consider it, don’t underestimate it. But that doesn’t seem to be of huge importance.

The leader of the Front of the Great Fatherland, for his part, had underlined when arriving on Avenida 9 de Julio: “I came to support the struggle of the humble, whether or not you agree ideologically with those who organize it. I did it during the macrismo, I did it during Cristina’s government and I will continue to do it until the day I die.

Right now, 1.2 million people are beneficiaries of the Work Promotion planthe initiative by which the people who make up the popular economy receive half of a minimum, living, and rolling wage ($16,000) in exchange for a salary of four hours a day. We are now discussing a 40% increase around this value. If confirmed, the figure could climb to $23,000.

NT revealed in December 2021 that only 7,000 people managed to drop out of the Labor Promotion Plan for making the leap to formal employment. Gabriela Cerrutipresidential spokesperson, sketched out a more positive scenario: according to her, this figure has risen to 40,000.

However, social organizations argue that the National Register of Popular Economy Workers has 2.8 million subscribers -although it is estimated that the sector has more than 4 million people- and the social crisis requires much more help.

This scenario partly coincides with what is proposed by the hard kirchnerism. Leaders responding to Cristina Kirchner have quietly warned that the social crisis could worsen in the middle of the year. In this context, social organizations promise new mobilizations and more measures of force and encampments.
