The face of Pepsi and a model in her trade, Desmond juggles between work and the dream of one day running her own modeling agency.

Desmond Gabriel Malus, 23, is of mixed Madang and Morobe parentage.

Desmond works as a promotional representative with Pacific Industries Limited, doing promotions for the company’s brands including Gold Spot, Gogo Cola and the current Pepsi Taste Challenge.

“I like dealing with customers when I’m in trade promotion, I’m a people person and I find it fun to deal with different types of people, Desmond said.

He said the best part of the job was taking photos and filming the company’s social media campaign.

“I’m a photogenic person and I like to play and pose for the cameras.
Desmond does modeling outside of his full-time job. He is the founder and director of Kumul Modeling Management based in Lae.

“I started modeling at the age of 15 while I was still in high school.

“I’ve been making money since high school through my modeling gigs and it teaches me to learn and take care of my needs and not depend too much on my parents,” he said.

Desmond has been part of different fashion shows in Port Moresby including the Virtual Runway Show 2021 organized by PNG Fashion & Design Week Ltd and also Glow Boutique Fashion Show and is set to organize and lead his first ever runway show. fashion in Lae later this year.

Desmond describes his typical day as waking up every morning, being busy and being productive at the end of the day.

“My advice to others is that you only live once, so don’t be afraid to try new things in life, always challenge yourself and keep being yourself.

“Don’t let other people’s insecurities drag you down,” Desmond said.
Desmond plans to go back to school, earn his degree in business management, and successfully run his own modeling agency.
