nep: Govt College launches internship plan under New Nep | Bhopal News

Jabalpur: In a first in Madhya Pradesh, 60 students from the Government Mahakoshal Arts and Commerce College in Jabalpur have started a community engagement course under the new National Education Policy (NEP), a professor said on Monday.
The internship is 50 points, which is mandatory for community engagement under the new NEP program, said the regional coordinator of the Swami Vivekananda Career and Guidance Center, Prof. Arun Shukla.
“In a first in MP, the first group of 60 students out of 650 enrolled in the first year of Arts, Commerce and Business Administration are undertaking a cleanliness internship at the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC). Community engagement will allow students to understand the realities on the ground such as education, health, agriculture, worker livelihoods, and more. during the field study, Dr. Shukla said.
“The college decided that the students should do an internship on cleanliness, a health issue to be promoted. Students receive basic communication training on how to interact with residents and have been given a form to collect details on cleanliness in municipal quarters,” said JMC Deputy Nodal Officer Shailja Sullere. She said the students were given the cellphone numbers of city ward supervisors and health inspectors, and asked to click through and send pictures of the trash to city officials so it could be cleaned up.
