National Institute of Social Defense (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment The Indian government has invited applications under the NISD internship program.

The program aims to provide short term exposure to the selected candidates with the different divisions of NISD, Government of India.

The areas / areas for which the internship is invited are (i) Care of the elderly (ii) Drug abuse prevention (iii) Other social defense issues

Duration: The duration of the internship must be at least four weeks but must not exceed 3 months.

Eligibility: Applicants must be pursuing / graduate / post graduate students or must be researchers enrolled in a recognized university / institution in India of any background, but preferably in Social Sciences – Social Work , sociology, psychology, anthropology, law, etc. Applicant must have achieved 50% or more cumulative grades in all years / semesters of their degree / post-degree up to the date of application. Fluency in English or Hindi is desirable for the internship.

The internship must be available throughout the year depending on the requirements of the NISD. A candidate can only apply for an internship once during a fiscal year. Applications received up to the 25th of each month will be authorized for the following month (s) internship (s).

Applications can be submitted online at http://nisd.gov.in/internship.html. Applicants should clearly indicate the area of ​​interest.

A maximum of 5 interns are taken on internship at a time for each division. The selected candidate must produce a letter of recommendation from the college / institution upon joining, failing which his application will be canceled. A certificate of successful completion of the internship will be issued.
