Millions awarded to New Mexico companies for interns

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Millions of dollars have been allocated to 22 different companies in New Mexico. The New Mexico Department of Economic Development (EDD) announced that $3.38 million has been approved by the Vocational Training Incentive Program (JTIP).

The goal of the JTIP, along with other training programs, is to encourage businesses to grow, expand and create better paying jobs.

“For fiscal year 2022, JTIP helped fund the training of a total of 2,352 workers with an overall average salary of $23.67 across 80 companies,” said Cabinet Secretary EDD Keyes. “It’s exciting to see that we are off to an outstanding start for FY23 and can continue to offer this funding opportunity for another year.”
