The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Madras has recorded its highest number of pre-placement offers for its students, institute officials told PTI News Agency.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, up to 227 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) have been offered to IIT-Madras students to date. This is significantly higher than what was done during the entire 2020-21 school year. In the previous academic year, the total of offers stood at 186.
Offers will continue to be made until the start of the Phase 1 campus internships, which is scheduled for December 1. The number of offers in 2019-2020 was 170 and 135 in 2018-19.
Key recruiters this year included Qualcomm, Microsoft, Honeywell, Texas Instruments, and Goldman Sachs.
Speaking on the offers, CS Shankar Ram, Advisor (Training and Placement), IIT-Madras, said that “the internship process provides a good opportunity for companies to evaluate our students who are doing an internship with them over a period of time. extended “.
“It also allows our students to learn more about the company, the positions that may be offered to them and potential career prospects,” he added. PPOs are the natural result of this interaction that benefits both businesses and students, he said.
Ram has confirmed that the number of pre-placement offers received in the current 2021-2022 academic year is the institute’s highest to date.
