The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode has recorded 100% placement in the summer internship recruitment campaign conducted for its two-year full-time PGP programs. The average allocation recorded a 25% increase compared to last year. This year, the average and median allowance stands at Rs 2.5 lakhs.
This season attracted the participation of 122 recruiters who offered internships to 541 students with the highest stipend set at Rs 6.47 lakhs. This year lot that presented itself for the recruitment campaign comprised 47% of female candidates and 45% of non-engineer candidates. Applicants presented with an average of 27 months of rich and diverse pre-MBA work experience.
This year, 18% of offers were made in the financial sector with a 27% increase in the average allocation. Some of the major financial institutions that have offered internships to students are Barclays, CitiBank, Credit Suisse, CRISIL, HSBC Securities, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, Nomura, SBI Capital Markets, Standard Chartered, TresVista, Yes Bank, among others.
Additionally, Sales and Marketing saw 24% bids made with a 39% increase in average allocation with recruiters such as Asian Paints, Astrazeneca, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Consumer Care, BP Castrol, Coca Cola, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. , HUL, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, PepsiCo, etc.
The Information Technology and Analytics cluster contributed 13% of total deals, and around 26% of deals were deployed by the consulting cluster this season.
