Hybrid program benefits Carmel business and interns – Hamilton County Reporter

As a summer of hybrid internships kicks off, Carmel-based CNO Financial has hired five interns from Carmel and Fishers:

  • Zobair Choudhry de Carmel is an actuarial trainee in the actuarial and risk department.
  • Maggie Dry de Fishers is a human resources (TA) intern in the human resources department.
  • Nolan Kopp de Carmel is a business development intern in the Capital Initiatives department.
  • Chris Headquarters de Carmel is an intern in the legal department.
  • Alexander Wilson de Fishers is a computer science intern in the information technology department.

Beyond their assigned roles, interns also work on two projects throughout the summer: one project with fellow interns in their department and another with interns from across the company.

These interns work in a hybrid manner, primarily remotely with opportunities to enter the CNO office. Coming soon, CNO CEO Gary Bhojwani will be talking to interns in an in-person session to share career advice. Interns also have coffee talks, CV workshops and other career development sessions.

Historically, the program has already converted five interns into full-time employees.

CNO Financial Group’s internship program began in 2011.

“We believe interns bring new perspectives to existing challenges, said CNO Vice President of Organizational Development Carolyn O’Donnell. “So far we have had a total of 187 interns and approximately 25-30 intern cohorts and the departments involved include IT, Actuarial, HR, Marketing, Internal Audit and 40 | 86. “

O’Donnell told The Reporter that the internship program gives students the opportunity to learn more about CNO and the network while doing meaningful work for the organization.

“We plan to continue to develop our program in the future and recruit people who really enjoy the internship experience at CNO Financial Group,” O’Donnell said.

Interns are selected by evaluating each candidate’s competitive work ethic, willingness to learn and develop new ideas, and ability to create a positive impact on the business. CNO also selects interns based on their enthusiasm and enthusiasm for certain internship opportunities.

“It’s also important that we provide our interns with meaningful work that can advance their careers and networking opportunities,” O’Donnell said. “To create this experience, we offer leadership discussions, career advice, development opportunities and additional resources that provide our interns with a comprehensive experience. We are always impressed with our interns and their skills.

Recruitment for the class of 2023 will begin in September.
