‘Harvard for 4IR’ from SA is looking for 20 interns


Forges Academy, which billed itself as Harvard SA for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is offering 20 graduates a chance to participate in its internship program.

In a statement, Forge says the selected candidates will develop their digital skills and gain valuable experience in disciplines such as software development, user experience design (UXD), 3D animation and game design, for to name a few.

The 12-month internship will begin in February, with each participating candidate being paid for their acquired internship position at the academy, he said.

According to Forge, interns will gain hands-on industry experience and receive on-the-job guidance and training from qualified and experienced mentors in each area of ​​work. Once the internship is completed, there will be assistance in finding a full-time job.

Opened in 2020, Forge Academy is located at The Gantry in Fourways, Johannesburg, serving as a 4IR hub for small businesses and a teacher training center to equip students with the skills they need to participate in the digital age.

Its education program is modeled on the principles of Finnish education and equipped with smart technology from Nokia.

According to the statement, the internship program is open to any recent Gauteng-based graduate between the ages of 18 and 30. They must not be currently employed, be a South African citizen, and have a grade 12 certificate plus a recognized degree or above. in a relevant field.

In addition, applicants will be required to submit the following documents: certified true copy of their identity document (no more than three months), matrix certificate, qualification certificate, updated CV and proof of relevant experience in the field for which they are applying for.
