First Look at Lehi’s City Council Candidates – Lehi Free Press

With a field of nine candidates, the race for Lehi’s city council begins. The terms of Councilor Chris Condie and Councilor Paul Hancock will end in December, and both have elected to stand for re-election. This year’s election will be administered by a ranked choice vote for the first time in Lehi’s history.

The ballots will be sent to voters on October 11 and the general election will be held on Tuesday November 2.

The Lehi Free Press will provide voters with a live in-person debate in September as well as in-depth coverage of the election and the candidates. Here is a first glimpse of the domain:

Hamilton Highlander

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? 8 years

2. What is your job? Software engineer

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. A curious, empathetic human who strives to improve the things I am involved in.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? (Short answer) Sustainable development that balances quality of life and property rights.

5. What is your favorite restaurant in Lehi? Culver

Cami Purtschert

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? I lived in Lehi for 15.5 years.

2. What is your job? I taught yoga at the Lehi Legacy Center for 14 years, and for the past 4 years I have worked as an assistant program coordinator at the Legacy Center. I love working there because I got to know so many people in the community and made a lot of new friends.

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. I am a lively, hardworking and reliable optimist.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? (Short answer) The main problem facing Lehi is one that we have faced for many years now; fast growing, and all that goes with it.

5. What is your favorite restaurant in Lehi? It’s so hard to choose! It must be either Sabaidee Thai, Thai House or Tokyo.

Paul hancock

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? 15 years in December

2. What is your job? Responsible for customer success for DOMO

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. I am a problem solver preferring pragmatic solutions rather than dwelling on them.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? (Short answer) Infrastructures and with the last two winters in particular, especially water.

5. What is your favorite restaurant in Lehi? I love that Lehi has a bunch of “non-chain” restaurants. I know you asked for one, but I’ll give you two: Sabaidee Thai and Zaperoco.

Nicole kunze

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? 25 years

2. What is your job? Journalist and Editor-in-Chief

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. I am optimistic, responsible, always anxious to learn and understand, and I am ready to work.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? It all boils down to keeping up with Lehi’s rapid growth – traffic, water shortage, affordable housing, and the need for more open space and parks.

Chris Condie

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? 14 years old

2. What is your job? Computer science

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. I am an outgoing and approachable person who cares a lot about his family, his neighbors and his community.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? (Short answer) Balancing growth, traffic, and the concerns they create are essential for the city to function effectively, but communication and understanding between residents and city officials is critical to Lehi’s success in moving forward. before together.

Michelle miles

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? I have lived in Lehi with my husband and children for 16 years.

2. What is your job? I am currently focusing on the education of my seven children. In addition to raising children, I am the founder of a company called TINGE. An online service that sorts clothing from retailers and gives individualized recommendations to shoppers based on their skin tone and body type.

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. I am a well-rounded person who can communicate and logical objectively, due to my constant willingness to adapt and try new things.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? Growth is the number one problem that Lehi faces, and the inclusion of residents in that growth.

5. What is your favorite restaurant in Lehi? My favorite restaurant in Lehi is Café Namasthe.

Lori Le

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? I grew up and spent most of my life in Salt Lake County. When I got married and worked as a high school teacher in the Alpine School District, we moved to Lehi and lived here for 20 years.

2. What is your job? Educator, full-time mom and community volunteer.

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. I am determined, focused, logical, kind and understanding.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? (Short answer) Manage our rapid growth appropriately and wisely.

5. What is your favorite restaurant in Lehi? Cafe Trang. Their rice vermicelli noodles with honey glazed grilled pork and eggrolls are delicious!

Aaron Bullen

1. How long have you lived in Lehi? 10 years

2. What is your job? Process engineer

3. Describe yourself in one sentence. I am a family man who loves Lehi and will improve our city by being innovative, detail-oriented, ambitious and principled.

4. What do you think is the main problem that Lehi faced? (Short answer) Growth – All other water, internet, open space, and traffic issues are spokes on the growth wheel.
