Clark House Hospitality loses culinary director and begins looking for a replacement


TROY – After leading food service for the six Clark House Hospitality businesses during the pandemic, redesigning its take-out pricing, and then guiding the successful relaunch of Donna’s Italian Restaurant brand, Zoe Krumanocker, vice president of culinary at the company, announced its resignation, effective October 30.

Praised by Clark House owner Vic Christopher for his work ethic, steadfast influence and ability to adapt and create, including developing some of the best pizzas in the area, during the turmoil of the last year and a half, Krumanocker has not publicly disclosed his professional plans.

In announcing his departure, however, Christopher hinted that a food business of some sort could be in Krumanocker’s future, noting that former Clark House employees went on to found restaurants or cafes, including Quang Tran (Quang’s Vietnamese bistro), Charlotte Guyton (Bard & Baker) and Liza Morgan (Liza’s), all in Troy, and Kelly Finn (The Daisy, Troy and Cohoes).

“I can’t think of anyone else who could have helped the company make the necessary transitions to survive,” Christopher said in a statement.

In an email to staff, Krumanocker, a 30-year-old native of Troy, said: “Working here for the past six years with all of you has brought me immense joy, and I couldn’t have done it. dreaming of a better group of people. to have shared the time with.

Christopher said in the announcement that he is confident that the culinary team built and led by Krumanocker is firmly established and will continue to serve customers at Donna’s Italian, Little Pecks and Lucas Confectionery during the transition and after his departure. Staff will be promoted from within and a search for an executive chef will be conducted, Christopher said.

In addition to the three restaurants, Hospitality of Maison Clark house operates a small market called The Grocery, Bradley Dive Bar and 22 2nd St. Wine Co. retail store. All are downtown in Pass Town.
