Cloud HR software provider CIPHR has unveiled the latest topics in its spring series of expert-led webinars, which will feature invaluable insights tailored specifically for HR and L&D teams.

With a focus on exploring the changes and challenges shaping the world of work, the next three CIPHR webinars will discuss learning management systems and what to consider when selecting one, how HR teams can make hybrid work models work and why workplace happiness is key to employee experience and performance.

Choose the best LMS

The first appointment on April 26 is “How to choose the right LMS: the ultimate three-step selection process”. Organized by CIPHR and its sister company Digits LMS, the session will feature Nevin Hart, CIPHR Training and Development Manager, and Andrea Matkin, Digits LMS Specialist, outlining key areas organizations should consider when selecting a new or replacement LMS provider.

While there is a range of vendors in the LMS market, not all systems will fit every employer’s training strategy and business requirements. This is where it pays to be prepared. Hart and Matkin’s talking points include how to create an LMS requirements checklist, with common examples of what to include, what to expect when dealing with vendors, and how to compare them objectively, and which features and functionality must-haves of an LMS are non-negotiable.

Developing successful HR policies for hybrid working

For its May webinar, CIPHR partnered with workplace performance expert Gary Cookson, director of EPIC HR and author of HR for hybrid work. In ‘Out of the office: what does it mean to be a hybrid people professional?’ he will draw on insights from his book and a host of best practice examples to illustrate how HR teams can develop policies and activities for hybrid working that balance the needs of employers and employees.

Since 2020, many organizations have proven that they can operate successfully remotely in one way or another, whether it’s 100% remote or following a hybrid working model. The challenge now is to ensure that employees who continue to work from home – part of the time or all the time – have the same opportunities and levels of engagement as their colleagues who work from the office or workplace. It’s not enough to replicate actions that might have worked before when everyone was together in the physical workplace. It’s time to reinvent traditional approaches to human practices and training and development initiatives and ensure they work for everyone – those working in the workplace, remotely or in a hybrid way.

Create employee-centric experiences

The guest of the CIPHR webinar in June is positive psychologist Meg Price, founder of happybyme and former head of human resources at the Dudley Building Society. In her session – “Humans, Not Resources: Tips for Creating an Employee-Centric Work Experience” – she will explore the relationship between happiness at work and better employee performance.

According to research by Gallup, disengaged workers can prove costly to organizations because they are more likely to be absent, more likely to be accident-prone, and more likely to make mistakes on the job. Price will share advice on how to avoid this, including strategies for adopting a more people-centric approach, how technology should support this, and how an organization’s vision and culture can be used to motivate and involve employees.
