Changes to metro and train services: September 30 to October

0

Have a nice week end! If you’re reading this and thinking, “Hey, would it be great if I could receive these service changes in another format – maybe as an email? – every week”, do we have good news for you. We launched the MTA Weekender, a newsletter sent every Friday. You’ll get the same service changes you know and begrudgingly accept, but in your inbox and with GIFs. If that sounds enticing, you can sign up here.

As it relates to this weekend, here are some of the more significant service changes:

  • trains do not run between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av
  • trains do not run to Howard Beach-JFK Airport or the Rockaways
  • trains run on line between 21 St-Queensbridge and W 4 St-Wash Sq
  • trains do not run between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av
  • trains do not run between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs
  • trains do not run in Lower Manhattan
  • trains do not run between Jefferson Av and Tottenville

For more detailed breakdowns, keep scrolling – we also have travel alternatives for stations that will be closed or skipped.

An important change after the weekend to note: from 5 a.m. on Monday, October 3, the train to Manhattan the platform at E 149 St will be closed 24/7 until October 17 while we make improvements to the station. For service to/from E 149 St, take a train to Pelham Bay Park or take the Bx19 bus. More on that here.
